Semester Recap – Spring 2014

Yet another crazy busy semester is in the books!  Here’s what went down as we anxiously awaited Spring:

Live Acoustic Performances:

I had the opportunity to perform at some great new venues, including the Old Courthouse Museum in Sioux Falls, Old Market Eatery in Brookings, and Tailgators in Brandon.

Events in the Underground and Trojan Center:

As usual, the Underground was packed with events from DSU Live and other organizations.  Several of our most successful live events included a “Mic Slam”, Zumba Night, and an end-of-year Spring Bash.

Student trip to Pierre:

Having not yet been to Pierre, I took the opportunity to travel with some Audio Production students to visit the state capital and interact with members of the state legislature. It was really interesting to sit in on a legislative session and learn a bit about how the state government operates.

Juried a Student Exhibition for Northern State University: Cassie and I were asked by professor Greg Blair to jury a student exhibition at NSU.  It was a very rewarding experience, and we enjoyed meeting students and seeing their great work.

John and Zachary Lucky Show: One of the true highlights of the semester was setting up this great acoustic show with John and Zachary. It was a fantastic atmosphere and the audience was thoroughly impressed.

Adam Hammer Show: Adam paid another visit to DSU, and I had the pleasure of playing an opening set.  It was a great time as always.

Burlap Wolf King and Expatriate Show: Another semester highlight was welcoming these two stellar bands to play in the TCB auditorium.  We had a great turnout and it was again an excellent evening.

Appearance on SDPB show, “On Record”:  I had the pleasure of having an interview with host Matt Weesner where we discussed the makings of my Stephen Foster album, and other upcoming projects.
