It was a great pleasure to host musicians Tim Lowly and Karima Walker for a live show here at DSU, sponsored by the College of Arts and Sciences and the Madison Area Arts Council. Tim is an artist and has an exhibition on display at the Washington Pavilion Visual Arts Center. In connection with his visual work, Tim also writes and performs music under his band name, Baby Mountain.
Tim not only asked me about arranging a show with him and Karima, but also asked me to play ambient guitar on six of the songs. I was thrilled to join with them! We did a live performance on a Saturday evening at the Washington Pavilion following a discussion panel based around Tim’s art, and then hosted a live show in an auditorium at DSU the following evening. In addition to setting up for the live show, students helped with recording the project and shooting live video.
