The Stephen Foster Project is Nearly Finished!

After many months of hard work and collaboration, I’m excited to announce that the Stephen Foster project will be released on Tuesday, July 16th, with some great previews coming very shortly! The album will feature eight reinterpreted and modernized Stephen Foster tunes.

I wanted to take the chance to highlight some of the amazing musicians who will appear on the album:

Paul Otteson is an incredible musician and singer-songwriter from Wisconsin who provided his stellar voice and banjo chops to the project.

Chris Champion is the best jazz guitarist I know, and he resides right here in Madison, South Dakota.  He provided many acoustic flourishes and solo parts to the album.

Nathan Fields and Tyler Steele are two former students of mine who did much of the engineering on the record.  Nathan also provided bass and backup vocals on two of the tracks.

My wife, Cassie Marie Edwards also lent her vocal talents to several tracks!

There are several other surprise guests on the album that I don’t want to reveal just yet, but I can’t wait to share the music!  If you want to be the absolute first to have the album in your hands, be sure to come to my Album Release Show at Latitude 44 on Thursday, July 11th, featuring Emily Jelen, and hopefully some special guests.

I’ll also be having a release show in Madison, SD at Mochavino on Thursday, July 25th.  Stay tuned… music and more updates are soon to come!!
