What better way to kick off summer than spending it at home with family over Memorial Day weekend? Not only that, but we celebrated my maternal grandma’s 81st Birthday! It was great to have a big picnic with family and also visit some fantastic restaurants over the course of the weekend, as well as visit the Menona Terrace in Madison, WI (pictured above). We also took the opportunity to attend a bonfire with college friends (and wonderful musicians/artists) which included John Statz, Paul Otteson, Joe Briggs, and Landon Arkens, who does amazing work at Blast House Studios in Madison, WI.
We also met Allen and Amanda Rigell who, together, form the band Count This Penny. They are outstanding musicians who recently appeared on A Prairie Home Companion with Garrison Keillor. It was truly a pleasure to share the evening with so many talented people.
